For our location in Driebergen (NL) called FocusCura we are looking for an experienced Financial Controller.

FocusCura develops effective care innovations that enable vulnerable people to live independently and happily for as long as possible and to keep control of their own lives. More than 100,000 people now use our smart products and services in the field of personal alarms and home access on a daily basis. About the role

You will be a part of / work closely together with the finance team of the business unit Senior Care Central Europe and report directly to the Manager Finance & Control of FocusCura.

Your main responsibilities are that accounting is correctly executed, and compliant to ASSA ABLOY Group policies and guidelines. Being the in-team system specialist you handle the month-end reporting, work with reports and reporting data out of our systems and the weekly sales forecast. The position also deals with transfer pricing, internal control and compliance.

Your tasks more specific:

  • Independent care of the monthly closure and intercompany netting in local books and HFM (Oracle database).

  • Operational financial support including detailed (manufacturing) variances analysis and calculation, reporting and follow up on cost price developments;

  • Support of operations and inventory accounting including variance analysis;

  • Challenging and driving continuous improvement of existing processes through optimization, standardization and stability;

  • Functional management of the accounting department consisting of 3 persons.

  • Internal control and compliance: ensure that all activities are handled in line with the internal control requirements and provide support during internal and external audits.

  • Cooperate with Operations and Logistics within FocusCura to improve visibility on KPI’s like product costing, overhead, labor efficiency/utilization, under and over absorption analysis, Purchase Price Variance (PPV) and Production Order Variance (POV);

  • Prepare investment (CAPEX) appraisals, ensure a financial follow-up during execution and compare actual achievements with initial capex appraisal;

  • Provide ad hoc business analysis where needed to support the business;

  • Support budgeting and estimating processes for operations that covers sales, operations and planning;

  • Lead in improving current inventory control processes including cycle count program;

Together we ensure a solid financial base for the organization and we try to get a little bit better every day. In the coming period we will be taking steps to further automate our processes and you can definitely contribute to this.

About you

We believe you have 3-4 years of experience from working with internal/external audits and 5+ years of experience in an controlling / accounting role, preferably in a technical manufacturing environment. We believe you have a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or similar in the Netherlands and a broad background in activities such as business planning and cost control. Experience in a start-up is a plus. Working with ASSA ABLOY since before is, as always, a merit.

You are able to grasp and understand the total picture of the company (business, processes, organization) and at the same time have understanding of the details that explains the financial outcome – i.e. holistic view with an eye for details. You have extensive knowledge of computer software and financial systems like Salesforce, Financial force, BI, Excel and PP. You also need proficiency in or knowledge of IFRS and internal ASSA ABLOY reporting guidelines, to be successful in the role.

A nice spreadsheet makes your heart beat faster. You want to fully understand our processes to be able to help the organization improve and grow. In addition, you ensure that our administration is correct, you control and monitor the financial process from start to finish, you create clear and insightful forecasts and you set up clear financial management information and monthly reports in collaboration with the Manager Finance and Control.

You have strong communication skills and you are highly analytical and decisive with the ability to build effective working relationships within organization. You have proven practical leadership experience as you have a small group of functional direct reports. Besides that you have strong financial coaching abilities towards your stakeholders in the rest op the organization.

In everything you advise and do, the added value for the organization and the quality of your work are key. You are the one who seeks for optimization and notices possibilities for improvements and ensures that we follow up on that.

As a person you are stress resistant and well organized, hands-on and you have a real can-do mentality. You speak and write Dutch fluently and as we are a global organization, high proficiency in English is required.
